I arrived early for the 3pm wedding of Paul and Clariz at Hotel Dominique in Tagaytay. Clariz was not even ready when we came and so Martini and I had the time to relax before starting to work. As I was doing Clariz’ makeup, she would fondly tell me how she chose me as her makeup artist. When she attended a wedding of a friend, who happened to be one of my brides, Ms. Jen Jayme. She liked what i did on her and the rest is history. Unfortunately, my husband Ferdie was in another wedding in Antipolo with Carlan so it’s gonna be double work for me since I have to do photography at the same time.

Here are some of Clariz’ before and after photos. I did a very light eye makeup on her since she would always tell me that whenever she wears eye makeup, she looks strong.

It’s is my first time to witness a Muslim wedding and believe or not, the bride didn’t participate in her own wedding! While we were waiting in the room of Manila Pen, Sonia has been telling me how the process would go and I was really amazed to hear her stories. Oh well… let’s talk about what i did on our bride, Sonia. She had a trial with me a day before her wedding and booked at the same time.

Lawrence , from Your Bestman at Work, called me 3 days before the wedding to book the wedding of Ms. Melanie Gabini. I was quite surpised about the rush booking with him. I was just worried since we have a bridal fair at PICC for the Wedding Summit Philippines and I wouldn’t want to miss this again ( i wasn’t able to come last Satuday because of Aleli’s debut makeup ). Since the wedding is at 10am and venue at Sofitel only, I really feel that this wedding is for ME!

It was also my first time to work in one of Sofitel’s Suites and guess how much is a night’s stay in the room? $ 5,000.00!!! Wowwww!!

I met Aleli thru a former client of our, Stacey. Both are from the same high school, Assumption College of Antipolo. Our debutant, Aleli was quite timid and shy when i first met her and so I was quite surprised when i finally finished her make over. She really transformed and the camera loves her!

Both Nav and Joselle are living and working in the US and so most of our communications are thru email. When Joselle visited our country, we had a trial hair and makeup in the hotel they were staying and I could still recall how ancient the elevator was. Carlan was with me to assist me with the entourage makeup and boy…. since all of them wanted a full makeup- meaning mostly dramatic smoky eyes, we spent more time finishing everyone’s look. But the big consolation was Joselle’s and everyone’s appreciation of our works, and that’s what really matters.

Anna is a friend of a former client of ours ( Megapixels ), Ms. Karla Magtibay. It’s my first time to meet the bride on her wedding date, as she didn’t avail a prenup shoot and makeup with us. But no worries, Anna has a very nice skin and so a little makeup on her would already be enough to bring out the best in her. As I was doing her makeup, i actually learned that both Joel and Anna were born on the same date and year… what a coincidence!

Marlon and Anne, both working in Singapore, have decided to renew their vows before God as they were already civilly wed. Although their wedding had some problems and inconvenient instances like Manila Cathedral’s aircon suddenly was on maintenance on their wedding day (so imagine the heat inside the church) and Century Hotel informing them a day before their wedding that they cannot start immediately on the reception since there was a previous event before them and won’t be finished till 5pm,  the wedding was memorable and blissful to everyone who attended the wedding.

RE-POST OF THE RECAPS

If you’re one of the few (or many) avid followers of this blog, then you might have noticed the sudden disappearing act of one of my posts. So due to that unwanted incident, Jeng has been “terrorizing” me to make a re-post of the blog. well, as you can see, I’ve conceded, because I feel that you (especially my brides) need to view the pictures of the weddings of the past month. Pardon the raw unedited, and seemingly hurried shots. Unfortunately, I did not have a photographer with me in those days, and between the brides, their bridesmaids, and their mothers, I hardly had time for taking shots after each makeover.

I don’t understand the hyped up appeal of Tagaytay these days (probably the cold weather). Back to the gig; call time was at 4:30am, but I arrived at 4:00am, so I had the liberty of taking pre-dawn pictures of the scenic view offered by Tagaytay. The cool breeze woke me up and got me ready for an early day of work.

For this particular wedding, I was pleased to have had an unexpected reunion with a fellow alumni of Mapua – the bride’s groom, Randy. No offense to the past, present, and future male graduates of Mapua, but the funny thing is, Randy is the only second schoolmate that I know who has clear skin, haha! Anyway, that particular day was fun. Viva to you, Zenny and Randy!
