A Possible Makeup Workshop in Singapore???

Posted by Jeng Sy Flores, Wedding Make-up Artist Philippines

I have been receiving emails from beauty enthusiasts asking if we would consider having a makeup workshop in Singapore. Well, why not? Carlan and I have actually done our first out of the country workshop in Macau last year and it was because one of the participants arranged everything, our airfare tickets, accommodation, meals, etc. I am posting this blog to probably ask if there are others who may be interested to join the workshop in Singapore. If we can gather around 15-20 participants then there would be a possibility that we are heading to Singapore for a makeup workshop. This would also lessen the cost of the makeup workshop fee since the expense would be divided into 15 heads. So what do you think? Throw us an email if interested

A BEAUTY WORKSHOP Like No Other! (May 8-9, 2010)

Makeup Seminar

While on the job, Jeng and I have heard numerous brides express enthusiasm and interest about make-up. So we’ve been mulling it over, and we’ve come up with a fantastic treat for all those wanting and willing to learn the ins and outs of make-up that are suited to your lifestyle and your personality.

We’re inviting everybody who is interested to join this workshop. Slots are only open to the first 25 applicants. This will be a 2-day event on May 8 (Saturday) and 9 (Sunday), 2010. Please keep yourselves updated with our future posts regarding the venue since it is still being negotiated. Enrolment fee is Php6,300.00 (food for 2 days included). Of course, you’re asking, what can I expect to gain from this mini crash course? First off, we’ll start with an extensive introduction about skincare: your type of skin, how to properly take care of your skin, and of course, the right kind of make-up to use.  It’s our policy that, no matter how good or expensive the make-up is, if your skin isn’t healthy, then it compromises the entire look. From there, half the day will be devoted to discussing the fundamentals and basics of make-up, suitable for the average working woman: (a) how to groom your brows; (b) what are the essentials of your make-up kit; (c) what type/shades of make-up will fit your skin tone; (d) proper placement of eye make-up; (e) the type of make-up for every occasion, just to name a few. As with every other workshop, questions are encouraged and will be entertained. Although we will be stressing  the introductory lecture, a much greater portion of the workshop will be devoted to demonstrations , followed by hands-on practice of the techniques and style.

Now, friends,  Jeng and I, aren’t saying that we’ve reached such a level of skill that we’re entitled to give fool-proof lectures. Our main purpose for this event is to share our knowledge with anyone, who is interested to learn. Everybody can look good with just a little effort and a lot of confidence.

If you have questions, feel free to leave you comments or email us at jeng@jengandcarlan.com or carlanteng@yahoo.com or call us at 6451848 ; 0917-5585806(Carlan) ; 0920-9503612(Jeng).

Thanks so much for all your support! Thanks for reading! Hope you can join us in this endeavour! See you guys in May!

A Make-up Workshop in Macau ( Jan 19-24, 2009 )

Posted By Jeng Sy Flores, Wedding Makeup Artist Philippines

Photos By: Ferdie Flores of Megapixels Digial Studio

It’s been four days since Carlan and I arrived here in Macau. We anticipated a very cold weather and brought a lot of  winter jackets but it’s good temperature is just 15-18 degrees.

We were welcomed and fetched by our would-be students Veron and Barry and stayed in one of the participant’s house ( Lerma’s ). Since Monday would be a busy day for the both of us, we decided to rest early to prepare ourselves for our first day of makeup artistry workshop/training.

Both of us woke up really early, probably it’s because of our eagerness to meet everyone and share everything we know. Formal training started at 8am.  We discussed about different products and the professional way of applying makeup. Here are some photos during day 1.

DAY 1 : Product Knowledge, Canvass Prep, Natural Day and Evening Makeup

DK’s final look

After the makeup class, Barry and Lerma were kind enough to tour us around. We went to San Malo and the famous shopping mall and casino in Macau- The Venetian.

Day 2 : Hands on ( Natural Day and Evening Look)

Now it’s the students’ turn to do the look that we taught them. Since most of them already have basic makeup knowledge, they were able to do a good job on their models. Here are some photos while they are in action

Day 3: Bridal Look

Last night, our spouses arrived so we are leaving and entrusting to my husband Ferdie Flores of Megapixels Digital Studio the photo documents of the remaining workshop. Everybody was curious about airbrush makeup so during my demo of the bridal look, i used airbrush on my model Veron

And here are some of their works

Since it’s our hubby’s first time also in Macau, we decided to go back to San Malo and Venetian

We bought the delicious peppered meat pie and pearl shakes and let our hubbies taste them, but seems like we were the ones having a great time eating them!

Of course our trip will not be complete without shopping!

Day 4: Smoky Eyes
