Ladies (and gentlemen), it’s time to shout HURRAH! That’s because Jeng is having her birthday on July 7^th, and she decided to celebrate it with a big splash for all you women out there. From July 10 to 12, FREE trial make-up will be given to everyone who is interested in, or have seen, the works of Jeng and Carlan. The 1920’s Inspired Prenup ( Ton+Leah )

Two days ago, I had a scheduled trial makeup of one of our Megapixels client. Though I cannot anymore accommodate her during their wedding day, which actually falls on our 2 days bridal fair at PICC this weekend ( we don’t usually book weddings when we have bridal expos ) as promised I prepared for her trial makeup. I was just surprised that when I was about to start her makeup, she mentioned she wants a 1920’s inspired makeup.. Gosh!!! Period makeup is actually one of the looks that I don’t really feel like doing since this involves heavy makeup application. Given no choice, I started to contemplate how to do the 1920’s look.

As I remembered, the 1920’s look is quite heavy in every aspect, from the eyes – black, gray or green eyeshadows ( smoky ) can be used, for the blush they call this “rouge” where the application of the blush would be like pinkish red circles on the cheek, and of course the Clara bow lips ( Cupid’s bow lips ).

Of course we don’t need to follow everything, Leah just wants her look to be 1920’s inspired. I just didn’t follow the one lined eyebrows and the “rouge” cheeks.

Ian and Steph booked our services a year ago. They have really prepared for their dream wedding and it payed off. Everything was organized from their accessories, venues and program. The weather was quite humid the whole day – both the church and reception venues are not aircontioned so imagine all the sweat and heat that the couple had to experience. It’s a good decision that Steph availed of my retouching services. While I was waiting during the ceremony, I also did their onsite photo AVP which we played during the reception. Here’s a glimpse of some of their wedding photos.

I had to set my alarm clock this morning to be able to wake up early again. A 9am calltime at Crowne Plaza is not really that early but since I barely had sleep for two consecutive days then I really need all the reinforcements that I can get.

I had to say, this is one of the events that I really felt so peaceful and relaxed while doing my makeup. The hotel room was really spacious, cool and quiet. I had so much space to work and nobody was harassing me to finish my masterpiece. Special thanks to Maureen’s family for the hospitality… may pasalubong pa talaga na cookies.

I was hesitant to do her trial makeup the following day since I had a prior engagement ( Maureen Acuesta’s wedding ) and I was not sure if I could make it on time. Fortunately there were some changes in my previous schedule so here it is. It was a busy day for me and Carlan. My partner has to help me first with a wedding makeup engagement ( Alvin and Reena’s @ Diamond Hotel ) before she can proceed to Antipolo for Roan’s Debut preparation. It has been raining hard in Marikina and Antipolo area that day, they were not able to proceed earlier to the debutant’s place since they got an advise from Roan’s mom that the area going to their place is flooded.

They arrived Roan’s place at 3:30pm and Carlan has to finish all three heads by 5pm. O well, she was able to do a great job with a small amount of time.

I was told by Mr. Boy Samson, SPPP President, that we would have one of Kris Aquino’s 26k girls as our model for tonight. And as the official makeup artist of the group, I was tasked to do the makeover of Karz.

That same night, the winners for the Urban Decay photography contest was announced and luckily, my better half Ferdie Flores bagged the 3rd place and was Php 10k richer.

I was only given a short span of time to finish her makeup and hairdo. Karz brought a lot of stuffs-wigs, hair mousse, accessories and 2 piece bikini.

Reena was really concerned about her skin problems even before she hired me as her makeup artist. She narrated to me that when she was on her teens, she had hormonal imbalance which actually caused her skin problems. I know from the start that I wouldn’t be able to conceal everything, maybe lessen the scars and remove the redness. I was also open to her about this concern, but she was quite happy with the results. I used airbrush makeup on her since her skin is quite oily.
